About me
My name is Marina. I was given my first drawing pad when I was three. The first thing I drew in it was a page of parallel vertical lines. My mother thought I was autistic. But I knew that I was an artist.
With time I learnt how to translate my fascination with things into recognisable shapes. I mainly teach myself through books, videos and my own mistakes.
My favourite medium so far is the coloured pencil. I also enjoy using pastels and struggle with watercolours.
I would like to thank my friends Ranen Niblett for a good challenge and Carl De Figueiredo for infinite moral support and listening skills. I am indebted to my late mother-in-law June for believing in me. I am also very grateful to my husband John for his support in providing me with art materials. Without them this site would probably never have been made.
